Relais & Châteaux designs new travel guide with agency of Tyler Brûlé

Relais & Châteaux presents its global travel guide in a fresh, modern design. The London office of Tyler Brûlé’s Swiss agency, Winkreative, was commissioned to design it. At the same time, the new guide for Switzerland and Liechtenstein is being released in a similar format.

Relais & Châteaux has entrusted the artistic design of its 2017 worldwide guide to the British branch of Winkreative. The agency was founded by Tyler Brûlé, creator of the renowned Wallpaper and Monocle magazines and columnist for the Financial Times. As a result of the collaboration, the iconic Relais & Châteaux brand now presents itself in a deliberately modern and transportable, practical format. The title in bright orange reflects the energy of the association and its members. The 2017 Guide is available in French and English versions at all Relais & Châteaux establishments.

Cooperation with renowned journalists and photographers

The travel guide is divided into two sections. Under the title "Inspire", tours from one Relais & Châteaux to another, so-called "Routes du Bonheur", through Japan, Canada and Morocco are presented first. For each report, renowned authors and photographers dove into the world of Relais & Châteaux homes. For example, the ten-day journey between Tokyo and Kobe is narrated by Danielle Demetriou and photographed by Hideaki Hamada. Demetriou is a British writer and correspondent for The Independent and the Evening Standard. Covering magnificent British Columbia are Amanda Ross and Neal McLennan, correspondents for Travel + Leisure, and Grant Harder, photographer for Air France. Traveling between Marrakech and Essaouira in the footsteps of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé is described by Annick Weber, writer and journalist for Winkreative, and Salva Lopez, photographer for the Wall Street Journal. The next part presents the winners of the 2017 Relais & Châteaux Trophies and the new members of the association, including Arosa Kulm Hotel & Alpin Spa and Waldhotel Doldenhorn in Switzerland, which joined in 2016.

In the second section "Explore", each member of the association is presented with its special features. These are thereby highlighted in info boxes under the aspects "ideal for", "must try" and "a detail".

New Routes du Bonheur in the Guide Switzerland & Liechtenstein

The trilingual (DE/FR/EN) Relais & Châteaux Guide 2017 for Switzerland & Liechtenstein is published at the same time. The Routes du Bonheur through Switzerland have been revised. New invites a journey through the universe of watches in manufactories and museums, others to hike in the Swiss mountains or discover the wineries in Valais. Subsequently, individual regions and the Relais & Châteaux houses located there are presented, as well as the regional favorite products of the association's top chefs. An overview of spa and beauty offerings, conventions and meetings, and a list of members worldwide round out the guide.
