Reach implements international branding project

The two listed companies Intercell and Vivalis, which are active worldwide in the vaccine and antibody sector, announced their planned merger on December 16. The new name and corporate identity were developed and implemented by Reach.

As this merger is a "merger of equals", a new identity had to be created without any reference to the previous names and corporate identities, the agency said in a statement on Friday. The new name had to have a positive ring to it, be pronounceable worldwide and not have been used as a brand anywhere else. Of course, the dotcom domain name also had to be available. Reach generated several hundred name suggestions, reduced them to shortlists and checked their usability. The favorites were subjected to an extensive trademark search. The name "Valneva" emerged as the winner.

The visual appearance

The new image can be derived from the two partners without this derivation being obvious in the result. It is intended to convey scientific seriousness and international dynamism at the same time. The word/figurative mark is designed in such a way that it is tailored to the communication needs and takes into account the various future applications. The color scheme should also express the values of the new company.
