Publigroupe expects operating loss

The advertising agency Publigroupe expects to post an operating loss for fiscal year 2012. The reason for this is the shrinking print market, which has caused its subsidiary Publicitas to incur a loss that was greater than expected.

However, net profit will exceed CHF 41 million, Publigroupe announced on Tuesday. However, the profit will be positively influenced by the sale of a "significant portion" of the real estate portfolio. The print market will continue to decline at the same rate as in previous years, the company added. Mobile media, on the other hand, will continue to gain in importance and change the entire market. This also has consequences for the Group structure. The Group's tasks are to be focused and the individual business segments adjusted. Among other things, Publigroupe will concentrate on its core competencies in the areas of finance and strategic development. (SDA)
