Plan.Net Suisse: Pranks for Swisscom TV 2.0

Swisscom TV 2.0 now comes with voice search. You get used to it so quickly that you’ll want to use it on other devices, too. That’s exactly the idea Plan.Net Suisse brought to life in Pranks.

While the whole of Switzerland was puzzling over who was behind the entertaining clips, Swisscom and Plan.Net Suisse were delighted with the viral success of this unusual teaser campaign.

The latest generation of Swisscom TV 2.0 includes a remote control with an integrated microphone. Users can search for programs, actors or channels by voice input and no longer have to laboriously type in the terms. The special feature: The voice search also understands Valaisan. Or Obwalden dialect. And all Swiss German dialects in general. A steep pass for the creative minds at Plan.Net Suisse, who have dramatized this special feature in Pranks.

A Saturday in mid-May in Switzerland: a young man from Basel is talking to the fuel nozzle in his car. A short time later, a woman tries to persuade a Selecta vending machine to finally spit out her "Peccli Gummibeerli". Anyone waiting for the 3 streetcar at the Hubertus streetcar station could watch a woman from Valais ordering her ticket to the main station from the ticket machine as a matter of course. It was easy. With a half-fare card. Then there was the young mademoiselle fuming at her trunk. A coffee machine that simply wouldn't dispense the double espresso "Chrütehagel nomal". The gentleman who held up a full elevator because he wanted to use voice search to find the underground car park. And the man from Biel in the launderette who just wants to get the washing machine running: "Go on, iu".

The seven clips, which were used unbranded in an initial phase, spread across the web at an impressive speed, according to the press release. Media and bloggers picked up on them, paving the way for the resolution clips launched seven days later to really take off. Thomas Lüber, Creative Director of Plan.Net Suisse, adds: "Working for clients who have the courage to try out new approaches is fun. Especially when the results of the campaign are convincing." CR Lichtspiele was responsible for the film production.
