The Tamedia media group generated operating revenues of CHF 823 million in 2000, 7 percent more than in the previous year. Electronic media showed the strongest growth, increasing by 22 percent to CHF 31 million. The print media division increased its income by 12 percent to 714 million francs. Tamedia reported that this once again exceeded the growth of the advertising market. The reasons for this were the booming job advertisements and the takeover of the magazine Finanz und Wirtschaft. In the electronic media, TV 3 and Winner.ch in particular generated higher sales. In contrast, the Services division suffered a slump, falling by 28 percent to 78 million. This was due to a reduction in printing capacity and its increased internal use.
