As a result, 4.8 positions will be cut and three vacant positions will no longer be filled. Six employees are to receive new contracts. Managing Director Hans Jürg Deutsch confirmed a corresponding report by Journalists.ch to WerbeWoche. Some of the redundancies have to do with the restructuring of programs. For example, the editorial teams of two health formats will be merged. Ringier-TV produces the programs "1x tägl." on Sat 1 and "Gesundheit Sprechstunde" on SF 2. According to Deutsch, "1x tägl." is being converted from a daily to a weekly format, as the program had "run its course". One deletion concerns the new media area. This concludes the cost-cutting efforts at Ringier TV.
Weinländer Zeitung to be discontinued The Weinländer Zeitung (WZ) will cease publication at the end of the year for economic reasons. It has lost its status as an official publication in some rural communities and is experiencing falling subscription figures. The 136-year-old WZ is now published three times a week with a circulation of 2,900 copies and employs four members of staff.
