New brand index for Switzerland
The Brand Ticker, in collaboration with the Handelszeitung, is launching the Swiss Brand Index. It provides daily updates on changes in the value of Switzerland's 30 most important brands.
From now on, the Handelszeitung and The Brand Ticker provide an instrument to measure the success of Swiss brands up to date. The Handelszeitung publishes the daily updated Swiss Brand Index on its website Handelszeitung.ch. The winners and losers of the domestic brands are also shown there. On Monday, for example, Breguet scored with a 0.15 percent increase in brand value, while the Omega brand lost 0.25 percent compared to the previous day, making it the worst performer among the 30 index brands. "Current events such as a product launch or a shitstorm not only have an impact on the stock price, but also on the brand value," says Stefan Eiselin, editor-in-chief of handelszeitung.ch. "It will be exciting for our readers to observe how such phenomena affect brand value and which brands are successful in the long term and which are not."
The Swiss Brand Index uses the system of The Brand Ticker. This evaluates two million media contributions every day. It is based on around 15,000 international print media, as well as online news and posts on social media platforms. TheBrandTicker combines the results of the media evaluation with the respective associated financial market data and thus calculates the value that brands have based on the published opinion. The data suppliers on board are Lexis Nexis (print media), Trendiction (online and social media) and Six Financial Information.
Data from the 30 most important Swiss brands is analyzed for the Swiss Brand Index. "The aim is to give brands a reference against which they can measure their success," says Nik Stucky, managing director of The Brand Ticker. Stucky is one of Switzerland's most distinguished brand experts and was responsible for Interbrand's brand rating for many years.
In partnership with media monitoring specialist Adwired, Stucky founded The Brand Ticker in 2013. In addition to brand value, it also identifies which events or public discussions negatively or positively influence brand value. TheBrandTicker redefines image and reputation measurement and enables the daily observation and evaluation of all facets of a brand, especially the economic relevance of its image.
At Thebrandticker.com Around 400 brands that The Brand Ticker monitors on an ongoing basis can be accessed with up-to-date results and reports. Brands can also be analyzed in detail in a paid suite. At the customer's request, The Brand Ticker can also analyze brands that are not included in the standard range.
