New composition of the Publicitas Executive Board
The management of Publicitas will be reconstituted as of January 1, 2013, and will have a new member. The Swiss business will be divided into services for agencies and advertisers and the marketing business for media providers.
In addition to the adjustments to the business structures in Switzerland, the digital business and the international network in over 20 countries will be strengthened at executive management level, according to a statement.
The management of Publicitas is in the hands of CEO Beat Roeschlin. Rüdiger Petrikowski, CFO, and Christian Rohrbach, Head of xentive, are members of the Executive Board as before. Chris Morgan, Head of Digital at Publicitas since April 2011, is a member of the Executive Board in his function as Head of Digital and is responsible for the global digital business of Publicitas. Under his leadership, digital advertising offers for local, regional, national and international clients are developed and sold through the Swiss and international sales network.
The international network is now represented on the Executive Board by Johannes Braun, Head International as of January 1, 2013. Together with Simon Taylor, CEO Europe & Americas, and Marzban Patel, CEO India & Asia, he will continue to drive the international business forward.
Johannes Braun joined Publicitas in March 2012 as Executive Consultant to the CEO. In addition to his role as Head International, he also assumes the function of COO. In this role, he will be responsible for all strategy and business development projects at corporate level in Germany and abroad. In this role, he replaces Markus Bieri, who left the company in mid-2012.
Subdivision of Swiss business into marketing and services for agency and advertising customers
Moreno Cavaliere, Managing Director and member of the Executive Board, will be responsible for the agency and advertising client business in Switzerland. As before, the marketing business in French-speaking Switzerland is headed by Executive Board member Patrick Cuénoud. Marcel Langhi took over responsibility for marketing in German-speaking Switzerland in October 2012. In this role, he succeeds Stefan Bai, who took over the role of Head of Advertising Market at NZZ on June 15, 2012. In addition to responsibility for marketing in the German-speaking part of Switzerland, Marcel Langhi is also in charge of internal sales. Marcel Langhi is a member of the Executive Board Switzerland. The marketing business of the Ticino region, Publicitas Publimag and Publicitas Cinecom are represented on the Executive Board by Moreno Cavaliere.
Ueli Weber, COO Publimedia, has left PubliGroupe/ Publimedia at his own request at the end of November 2012 to take up a new challenge. Ueli Weber had been with PubliGroupe since 1998, including as Managing Director of web2com, until he took on the role of COO within Publimedia in March 2011.
Personnel changes at Group Services Publicitas
Jean-Luc Mauron has been in charge of the HR department since December 1, 2012. Othmar Fischlin, Head of Marketing, left Publicitas at his own request at the end of October 2012. Othmar Fischlin has worked in various functions at Publicitas since 1990. In 2008, he took over the Market and Media Research function until 2010, when he became Head of Marketing. The position of Head of Marketing will no longer be filled in this form.
The management of Publicitas will implement the further optimization measures announced today at the PubliGroupe Investors' Day with the highest priority and continue to drive the digital as well as international growth strategy.
