Copycat brands in Switzerland

Promarca In 2000 and 2001, 21 branded products were counterfeited in Switzerland. Switzerland is "one of the countries that has a major problem with counterfeiting", said Promarca spokeswoman Gabi Dischinger in response to an SDA inquiry. The 21 imitations concern eleven members of Pro marca. Although the manufacturers took action against the imitators in twelve cases, only two disputes ended up in court: the copy of Rivella with Apiella and the copy of Merci with Grazie. In the other cases, an amicable settlement was sought.
