Marketing against the strength of the Swiss franc
Switzerland Tourism wants to counter the strong appreciation of the Swiss franc with a campaign aimed primarily at domestic guests. Switzerland Tourism made the announcement at its annual media conference in Zurich on Monday.
The campaign is intended to stabilize the important home market and will cost around CHF 3.9 million. Federal Councillor Johann Schneider-Ammann will also make an appearance within the campaign, raving about Swiss tourism, as the industry organization writes in its statement. However, Switzerland Tourism also wants to strengthen advertising in less price-sensitive markets in Europe. These are primarily the Nordic countries. Well-earning tourists in the Baltic States, the Balkans and Turkey are also to be addressed. According to the statement, this is being done in cooperation with the airline Swiss, among others, which is now serving these urban centers with direct flights. In the markets in the USA, India, Southeast Asia or China, the planned measures will be further pursued and accelerated, writes Switzerland Tourism. (SDA)
