On Saturday, November 19, the 24 graduates of the Executive Master of Science in Communications Management from the Faculty of Communication Science at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) received their diplomas. Once again this year, the best consulting project was honored with the Burson-Marsteller Award for Academic Excellence. The award, worth CHF 10,000, was presented by Toula Stoffel, Burson-Marsteller Emea Healthcare & Science Communications Practice Chair and Deputy Managing Director of Burson-Marsteller Switzerland. This year's final consulting projects were carried out for the Canton of Zug, Greenpeace, Stryker, Syngenta and Volvo.
The winner is the "Greenpeace" project by Samuel Eckstein (Zurich), Christine Griese (Berlin), Börs Brita Westelius (Linköping) and Matthias Wüthrich (Zurich). The winning team was commissioned by Greenpeace International to develop a communication strategy for the global financial markets. The focus was on the risks of carbon-intensive investments and the prevention of global climate change. The team solved this complex task by analyzing the communication dynamics of the market and also made specific recommendations.
