More Than Just Bass: Sunshine Live Brings Together Electronic Music Culture in a New App
With the new SUNSHINE LIVE app, the electronic music community in the DACH region now has a digital home. More than 50 channels hand-curated by DJs and experts, along with DJ sets, videos, podcasts, interviews, and news, bring the diverse world of electronic music together on a single platform. The new SUNSHINE LIVE app has been available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store since September 7.
SUNSHINE LIVE is launching the first cross-media Streaming app for electronic music, dance, and DJ culture. Under the motto «One Home. 100% Electronic Music. Listen. Watch. Read.,» the app combines audio, video, and editorial content on a single platform, offering the community a unique entertainment experience.
Electronic music is much more than just a genre. It represents a lifestyle that blends dance, DJ culture, and club culture with tech and fashion. Among Gen Z, it’s one of the fastest-growing music genres on TikTok and is also making its mark on international festivals and charts. SUNSHINE LIVE has been a major influence on the scene for nearly 30 years and reaches nearly two million listeners every day who love and listen to electronic music.

More than 50 curated channels and personalized content
During registration, the app can be personalized based on personal interests, such as preferred genre and a focus on audio or video. At its core are more than 50 hand-curated music channels. These cover a wide range of genres, including techno, house, drum ’n’ bass, and schranz, as well as content related to clubs and festivals such as Time Warp and Nature One. The audio offerings are complemented by simulcasts and podcasts in both audio and video formats.
Users can find DJ sets, videos, interviews, features, and mini-documentaries in the app. In addition, there’s editorial content covering the electronic music scene as well as exclusive formats like the SUNSHINE LIVE Festival Summer. The SUNSHINE LIVE app is designed to complement major streaming platforms: in addition to music and playlists, it also highlights the culture, the people, and the stories behind electronic music.
By the community, for the community
A key component of the concept is its close ties to the electronic music scene. The content is not determined by algorithms but is editorially curated by people from the scene. The platform was developed in Germany and is operated independently there.
With this, SUNSHINE LIVE is creating a new digital home that brings together different generations and genres of electronic music. From fans of classics from the ’90s and 2000s to the festival and club community and the TikTok techno generation: The app is aimed at a broad and diverse audience, united by a passion for electronic music.
Starting September 7, the SUNSHINE LIVE app will be available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. It can be used as a guest or in either a freemium or premium version. The free freemium version offers all content supported by ads. The premium version, priced at CHF 4.00 in Switzerland, is ad-free and offers additional, partly exclusive content.
