MediaMarkt opens Experience Pop-Up at Zurich Main Station

A first step toward Experience Electronics: On Friday, MediaMarkt’s Experience pop-up at Zurich’s main train station will officially open its glass doors. Under the theme «Impact Experience,» the pop-up will showcase how technology and sustainable consumption can go hand in hand.

MediaMarkt is transforming itself from a pure product seller of consumer electronics to a service and experience platform covering all aspects of electronics and technology. With its focus on "Experience Electronics", the company aims to offer its customers an inspiring and comprehensive ecosystem in which they can feel comfortable and experience products and services in a new way. In doing so, MediaMarkt is focusing on optimizing the experience it can offer customers in the core elements of consulting, selecting and purchasing products, as well as their use and sustainable handling - also referred to as "Employee Experience," "Shopping Experience," "Usage Experience," and "Impact Experience.

The "Impact Experience" is also the main theme of the Experience pop-up at Zurich Main Station. In the temporary store, customers are introduced to the cornerstones of "BetterWay," MediaMarkt's sustainability initiative.

In addition to advice and presentations of the sustainable "BetterWay" products, visitors can have their iPhones repaired at the Smartbar or exchange small, older electronic devices for a gift card as part of the trade-in program, thereby significantly extending the life cycle of their products. As a key partner, CoffeeB will also be on site and invites visitors to taste its capsule-free coffee system.

"The Experience Pop-Up in Zurich's main train station beautifully illustrates how we want to interact with our customers across all our physical and digital POS in the future," explains Stefan Fraude, CEO of MediaMarkt Switzerland. "Based on a 'digital first' approach, we want to offer a modern omnichannel shopping experience with a comprehensive service and experience platform, where our customers can not only buy, but also experience, touch and feel customized products and services - and thus generate real added value."
