Media policy The Council of States' Committee for Transport and Telecommunications (KVF) is proposing a change to fee splitting in the new radio and TV law: the National Council's version provides for a "maximum of 4 percent" of reception fees to be distributed to private radio and TV stations. The KVF, on the other hand, wants a range of 2 to 5 percent each. According to the communiqué, this would give more flexibility in the allocation. Licensed broadcasters are to receive a further one per cent of fees (around CHF 10 million per year) as a contribution to investment costs in digital broadcasting networks and other new broadcasting technologies.
