Beer: Eichhof and Lesch+Frei are aiming to conquer German-speaking Switzerland with a quirky commercial.

Beer Eichhof and Lesch+Frei want to conquer German-speaking Switzerland with a quirky commercial. The Eichhof brewery is the most important independent Swiss brewery. It is currently setting out from its home region in Central Switzerland to conquer the other important agglomerations in German-speaking Switzerland after Zurich - where Lucerne beer is already a cult product - with the help of Werner Dubach, the busy delegate of the brewery's Board of Directors, not only of the fine beer specialties from the city of lights, but also of a large-scale advertising campaign on Swiss television. It features "cult beer films from the Lesch+Frei brewery in Zurich", produced by top director Rolf Sohlmann, who has won several Cannes awards. He was so enthusiastic about the agency's idea that he "came to Switzerland for a fraction of his normal fee", as Lesch+Frei reveals.
Fight for the last bottle
The basic idea: an Eichhof beer is so good that sharing it would be a sin. In order to protect the last Eichhof in his fridge from his flatmate's grasp, a flatmate uses all kinds of kitchen utensils to prepare a chain reaction that ultimately leaves his beer-stealing flatmate quite flat in two different ways. The gleeful audience is delighted. "The jurors at international advertising film festivals will be too", as CD Thomas Lüber at Lesch+Frei hopes. Or in other words: cheers to the Eichhof brewery on TV. Even from a sober point of view, it could become even more of a cult with commercials like this.
The two films can now be seen on Swiss-German and Ticino television and at open-air cinemas in the summer.
