HSG creates flexible marketing training courses

EDUCATION The Institute of Marketing at the University of St.Gallen has modularized its course offerings for managers in order to make it easier to combine continuing education with a career.Three certificate courses in communication, marketing and sales management now offer an overview of the relevant topics. At the same time, participants also have the opportunity to take individual modules in order to deepen their knowledge of a topic or to acquire the further education diploma in Marketing Executive or Sales Manager by combining two certificate courses. "The modular structure allows our participants to adapt the content focus and pace of study to their needs in the best possible way," says Kirsten Mrkwicka, Head of Executive Training, summarizing the advantages of the innovation. At the same time, the combination options create new development prospects. Thanks to the clearly delineated, content-coordinated courses, graduates can expand what they have already learned into an internationally recognized Certificate or Diploma of Advanced Studies at any time.In addition, the integrated view also maximizes long-term learning effects, regardless of current trends or buzzwords, emphasizes Institute Director Prof. Dr. Marcus Schögel: "With the modular structure, we can prepare participants for strategic tasks and future challenges in a shorter time and better." Important methodological elements for the transfer of knowledge are the intensive exchange during the course and comprehensive, individual feedback on all course achievements. www.ifm.unisg.ch/weiterbildung.
