Hilti team receives design award
This year's Red Dot Design Awards were presented Monday evening at the Aalto Theater in Essen. Hilti's chief designer, Stephan Niehaus, and his design team received the «Red Dot Design Team of the Year» award.
The event honored the best achievements in product design from a wide range of industries and product groups. Markus Auerbach, Head of Design Concept and Development at Audi, served as the laudator. The Hilti case stands for uncompromising reliability, high performance and emotional added value, said Auerbach in his speech. Hilti had managed to turn this case into a status symbol for construction professionals.
Following the laudatory speech, Michael Hilti, CEO Bo Risberg and Chief Designer Stephan Niehaus took to the stage with the 50-strong design team to receive the coveted "Radius" challenge cup from Prof. Dr. Peter Zec, initiator of the Red Dot Award. This remains in the possession of the "Red Dot Design Team of the Year" for one year.
