Heinz Karrer new member of the Board of Directors of Infront Ringier

Economiesuisse and Kuoni president Heinz Karrer has recently joined the board of directors of sports marketer Infront Ringier, according to the NZZ am Sonntag.

The source is the commercial register. The former top athlete does not share the newspaper's concerns that Karrer could reach capacity limits - Economiesuisse is being criticized from all sides and Kuoni is struggling with its bumpy new start. He limited the number of mandates from the outset, he says, so that he would have "the greatest possible flexibility for Economiesuisse and Kuoni." Karrer's commitment to the internationally active Zug-based sports marketing company is no coincidence: on the one hand, as a former international handball player and head of Intersport, he has an affinity for sports and sports managers, and on the other hand, he was Ringier's head of Switzerland in the 1990s, so he already has a certain proximity to the media group. At Infront Ringier, the search is on for a successor to Armin Meier - the company is without a boss following the sudden departure of the former professional cyclist (Werbewoche.ch reported). According to NZZ am Sonntag, the separation was so abrupt because negotiations on new Super League contracts are pending on behalf of the Swiss Football League and these talks require a manager who will also be on board for the next few years.
