Gemi January 2013: Adscreen and TV still on the rise

After a strong end to 2012, Adscreen recorded a slight decline in January, but was able to maintain its upward trend. The overall market and electronic media as a whole are stable, as the Goldbach Index (Gemi) shows.

Adscreen closed 2012, which was a positive year for the medium overall, with a clear signal of 643 index points, an impressive increase of 20 points at the end of the year. The slight decline at the beginning of the year should therefore by no means be seen as a downward trend, but rather as an indication that the 640 (643) advertising screens are becoming increasingly established. Fredy Grau, Head of Digital out of Home at Goldbach Media, confirms "The continuous expansion of digital screens is being used by more and more customers". TV also had a strong year: Having started the previous year with 593 index points, TV can now report an index of 621 points, underlining the high closing value of December 2012 at the same level. Radio also remains stable with 417 index points. Teletext lost one index point at 80 (81), while the Internet returned to the values of the fall months at 637 (633).

The overall market and electronic media as a whole are stable: Despite a slight decline in the overall market, electronic media remains stable at 232 (233), up 20 index points on the previous year's figure of 619 (599).
