Futurecom designs zoo app

Futurecom has developed an iPhone app for the Zurich Zoo. This is intended to ensure that the up to 1.7 million visitors who flock to the zoo every year don't lose track of what's going on.

This app was made possible by the Zürcher Kantonalbank. The Zoo App http://itunes.apple.com/de/app/zoo-zurich/id527856894?mt=8not only helps find the fastest, most comfortable or stroller-friendly way from the gorillas to the elephants. It also has a calendar of events that actively alerts visitors to feedings and other attractions. And it does so well in advance so that visitors can make it to the enclosure before the big feeding begins. The physical needs of visitors are also catered for with timely and local information on the zoo's culinary offerings. In addition, there is of course an extensive encyclopedia, in which everything worth knowing about the animals can be read.

A number of predefined tours also provide valuable guidance: there is a children's tour, a young animal tour, the ZKB adventure tour and a rain tour. For visitors with a limited time budget, two highlight tours are also offered, lasting one and two hours respectively.
