Farner: Marco Imboden becomes Managing Director Corporate Communications & Public Affairs
Switzerland's leading communications agency is strengthening its consulting capabilities: Marco Imboden will take over as Managing Director of the Corporate Communications & Public Affairs division effective April 2026. He succeeds Urs Knapp, who will continue to work for the agency as a Senior Advisor.

The communications agency Farner is strengthening its management team and setting the course for the future. Marco Imboden will head the Corporate Communications & Public Affairs division as Managing Director from April 2026. He succeeds Urs Knapp, who has successfully held this position for many years and will remain with the agency as Senior Advisor with a selected client portfolio.
Urs Knapp was a partner and member of the Executive Board at Farner for over 25 years in a leading position. During his time as Managing Director of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs, he built up and significantly professionalized key areas of expertise such as Health Care Communications and Financial Communications. Under his leadership, Farner was able to significantly expand its position as the leading communications agency in Switzerland.
"Now is the right time for me to hand over management responsibility to new hands," says Urs Knapp. "I am proud of what we have achieved together as a team. And I look forward to continuing to make my experience available to selected clients as a Senior Advisor."
Most recently with the CSS Group
With Marco Imboden, Farner has gained an experienced leader for the position of Managing Director and member of the Executive Board. Over the past 20 years, the communications expert has held management positions at well-known Swiss and international organizations - most recently as Head of Corporate Communications at the CSS Group. Prior to that, he gained management experience at Swiss Post, SR Technics and the Zurich Insurance Group.
"For many years, I have perceived Farner as an excellently positioned agency with a high level of strategic expertise," says Marco Imboden. "It is a great honor for me to take over the role from Urs Knapp. I look forward to working closely with the well-established management team and to further developing the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs division together."
Launch in March 2026
Michel Grunder, CEO of Farner, adds: "With Marco Imboden, an outstanding personality from the Swiss communications landscape is joining Farner. His broad experience in various industries and his strategic vision are a great asset for our clients and our team. At the same time, I would like to thank Urs Knapp warmly for his decades of commitment, his formative work and the collegial cooperation on the Executive Board. It is great that we can continue to count on his expertise in the future."
Marco Imboden will join the agency in March 2026 and take over Urs Knapp's management duties in April.
