The Zurich-based communications agency Contcept Communication is taking over HotelCard’s PR account effective immediately. The collaboration between Contcept Communication and HotelCard aims to further develop brand awareness, communicate the business model more clearly, and sharpen the booking platform’s positioning in the Swiss travel and hotel market.

The «Half-Fare Card for Hotels»

HotelCard.ch works on the same principle as a Half-Fare Card for hotels: Customers enjoy discounts of up to 50 percent at approximately 500 hotels in Switzerland and neighboring regions. On average, they are expected to save about 100 francs per night. Partner hotels do not pay any commissions—a model that, according to the press release, is designed to make better use of available capacity.

In addition to discounted accommodations, HotelCard continues to expand its offerings for its users. These include, among other things, discounts on tourist attractions, museums, guided tours, and other recreational activities in Switzerland.

Topics Related to Smart Booking and Tourism Trends

Concept Communication supports HotelCard with strategic positioning, media relations, and topic development. The focus is on stories related to smart booking, travel and tourism trends, the Swiss hotel industry, booking data, and consumer behavior. In addition, Hotelcard.ch is to be positioned as an authoritative voice on tourism and industry topics.

Barbara Ryter, CEO of Contcept Communication, sees a lot of potential in the campaign’s themes: «Hotelcard brings together several topics that are highly relevant to the media and consumers: affordable travel experiences, discovering new regions, and supporting the Swiss hospitality industry. Our task is to bring these topics to the forefront with compelling stories and relevant data.»

Contcept Communication and HotelCard: Focus on the Business Model

A key component of the communication strategy will be explaining the business model. Claudio Grisch, CEO of HotelCard, outlines the specific goal: «Many people are familiar with HotelCard, but not everyone yet understands exactly how our model works and how quickly the card can pay for itself. That’s exactly what we want to change. Together with Contcept, we want to raise awareness of HotelCard and demonstrate the added value we create for travelers and the Swiss hotel industry.»

Contcept Communication is an owner-managed communications agency headquartered in Zurich with offices in French-speaking Switzerland, Berlin, and Munich. The agency advises companies and public figures in the areas of strategic communications, public relations, thought leadership, influencer marketing, and social media.
