Drupa Cube: Innovative conference program at drupa 2016

DRUPA CUBE Print builds the bridge between creative agencies, marketers, brand owners and vertical markets. The drupa cube - the conference and event program for drupa 2016 (the world's leading trade fair for print and cross-media solutions) - is being launched with a new approach. The focus is on the innovative power of print and the diverse application possibilities of printed products across a wide range of industries and areas of life. "New technologies such as printed electronics and 3D printing, creative multichannel applications and the use of digital printing technologies in the packaging sector, for example, are impressive proof of the potential of print time and time again. The drupa cube reflects this future potential with its international conference and event program," says Sabine Geldermann, Director of drupa, explaining the objective of the drupa cube. "At the same time, it is important to us to build a bridge between creative agencies, marketers, brand owners and the vertical markets with an interdisciplinary approach. "In contrast to the first two cube conferences in 2008 and 2012, the eleven-day program is not structured according to individual visitor target groups, but is based on the following six highlight topics of drupa 2016: multichannel, print, functional printing, 3D printing, packaging production and green printing. In each presentation slot, several of these highlight topics will be combined using specific case studies, such as functional printing & packaging printing, 3D printing & sustainability or multichannel & print. The key aspect of this approach is thinking outside of supposedly fixed boundaries. This "out-of-the-box principle" opens up new perspectives and offers an exciting outlook on the future of print. With its range of topics and interdisciplinary concept, the drupa cube addresses selected vertical markets from the retail, food, consumer goods, interior design, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, healthcare, financial and public sectors for the first time. "In this way, we want to introduce additional visitor target groups to drupa and get them excited about print," says Sabine Geldermann, explaining the objective of the drupa cube.
