Doodle goes to Berlin
The online scheduling tool Doodle continues to expand: As Doodle CEO Michael Brecht announced, the successful Zurich-based company will open an office in the German capital in early 2015.
At the Berlin site, ten employees will initially support the international business of the web service - especially in the areas of online marketing and further development of the mobile Doodle applications. This decision underscores the company's ambition to develop Doodle into a central global platform and make online appointment scheduling the international standard.
"Berlin, with its dynamism and internationality, is an excellent fit for our global growth offensive that we launched this year," explains Doodle CEO Michael Brecht. At the same time, he also emphasizes the importance of Zurich for the company: "Zurich is and will remain our headquarters. Doodle is a Swiss success story - and our excellent contacts with ETH are of great importance for the further technical expansion of the Doodle platform. I don't see any contradiction here: Whether it's Velcro, sugar cubes or tubular mustard - many Swiss inventions have also been successful worldwide in recent decades. Why shouldn't we succeed with Doodle?"
