Civis: European Media Prize announced

The European Civis Media Prize was launched on Monday. The award seeks out outstanding programming on radio, television, and the Internet that addresses the themes of integration and cultural diversity.

The European Civis Media Prize 2011 is endowed with a total of 40,000 euros. The "Young Civis Media Prize" is a European prize for young journalists and students at film and media universities. The "Civis Online Media Prize" also honors journalistically prepared websites on the subject of integration and cultural diversity. All radio and television broadcasters and web providers in the European Union and Switzerland can take part in the competition. The award ceremony and TV gala will take place on May 26, 2011 at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. The closing date for entries is January 20, 2011.

The submission period for the 2010 European Civis Media Award is now open. The award seeks radio and television programs, as well as journalistic websites, that address the topics of integration and cultural diversity in Europe.

The prize is endowed with a total of 46,000 euros. All radio and television broadcasters and web providers in the European Union and Switzerland can take part. The closing date for entries is January 20, 2010.
