ComImpact industry initiative: new corporate member, successful association year
The media agency OMD is a new member of the ComImpact professional association. The 2023 association year set a new record with twelve practical insights and opportunities to share experiences. At the beginning of the year, Irene Fischbach took over as the new Head of Communications at Mobiliar, succeeding Alice Chalupny on the association’s board.
For Alexander Schmitt, Managing Partner of OMD, joining ComImpact makes a lot of sense: "As part of a global network and specialized service provider for the targeted use and performance measurement of paid media, we can show what is actually running and working - the development is phenomenal".
Successful 2023 for the association
The initiative, which is supported by the ComImpact trade association, aims to make the digital transformation of the industry - known as CommTech - accessible to Swiss marketing and communication professionals in an up-to-date, broad-based and vivid way. In 2023, a record number of twelve free events on various topics were held, mostly the evening before, attended by around four hundred people. In 2024, the quality and cadence of these free practical insights should at least be maintained. For example, a webinar on "Next Generation Location Targeting" will take place on January 24.
The ComImpact trade association was founded in February 2021 and is a network for the promotion of CommTech expertise in the communications industry in Switzerland (Werbewoche.ch reported). It is supported financially and organizationally by the contributions of its 17 member organizations (as of January 2024). The initiators and current partner members are Farner Consulting, the HWZ University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich, Media Focus, Mobiliar, UBS and Webrepublic. Further members are Dreifive, the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, Myconvento, Linkgroup, OMD, Swiss Post, Swiss Reputation Group, Pressrelations, Sonova, Unicepta and Wirz. The associations IAB, LSA Leading Swiss Agencies, Page Society, PR Suisse and the Swiss Advertising Client Association SWA have issued patronages.
