best YET 2012: Swiss on the podium

The Swiss creatives proved in Oslo that cheese advertising comes easily to them. One team is going home with bronze, the second has secured a place on the shortlist.

Within 24 hours, the young creatives had to work on the best YET competition in Oslo to design a print campaign to promote the Norwegian cheese Jarlsberg on the international market. The focus was to be on keeping the recipe secret - after all, it is not only known in Appenzell, but also in Norway.

The winners

The winning team from Ireland, Cian Tormey and Neil Saul (Publicis), convinced the jury with an unusual idea: using newspapers, wrapped in plastic and then dipped in wax, as an advertising medium for Jarlsberg cheese.

The Croatians impressed the jury with their visualization. They were rewarded with the silver medal for their Stonehenge, pyramids and co. made of cheese.

Bronze was awarded to the Swiss Silvio Seiler (Silvio Seiler Graphics and Design) and Othmar Küng (Managing Director Pixeldisko), whose advertisements reveal various secrets about the production process: For example, how to chew, stir and milk.

The two Romands Gaël Tran and David Moret (Euro RSCG Genève) narrowly missed out on the podium. Their advertisement promises to reveal the secret Jarlsberg recipe. However, anyone who has the Norwegian sentence translated on the Internet will be proven wrong:

The creatives were accompanied by the Swiss juror Andreas Prokesch, owner of Andreas Prokesch Konzepte & Texte, Kerstin Waldkircher from the bestYET sponsor Publimedia, Toni VetterliMarketing Director of the Swiss Media Association and Isabel Imper, journalist at Werbewoche.

You will find a detailed report on the events in Oslo in the print edition of Werbewoche, which will be published on May 26.
