Bernhard Brechbühl new at Energy

The Energy Group is adapting its organizational structure to support its digital growth goals. Bernhard Brechbühl is joining Energy as Chief Content Officer.

The Energy Group Management thus consists of Roger Spillmann (Chief Radio Officer), Bernhard Brechbühl (Chief Content Officer), Oliver Diggelmann (Chief Operation Officer), Pascal Frei (Chief Marketing Officer and Deputy CEO) and CEO Dani Büchi.

As Chief Content Officer, the 39-year-old Brechbühl will now be responsible for the further development and implementation of the digital strategy. He will assume his newly created position on October 1, 2016. Brechbühl was a member of the editorial team of 20 Minuten from 2005 to 2012 and launched the social content platform Storyfilter in 2013, which caused a sensation with viral hits throughout the German-speaking world. In addition, he advised brands and publishers in Germany and abroad in the areas of content marketing, social content and native advertising. He is a lecturer at the Ringier School of Journalism and at the Ad School of ADC Switzerland. Bernhard Brechbühl: "I have found a highly exciting starting position at Energy to implement a future-oriented digital content strategy. I am looking forward to the new challenge".

As Chief Radio Officer, Roger Spillmann is responsible for all of Energy's radio activities. This includes the Energy stations Energy Basel, Energy Bern and Energy Zürich, LandLiebe Radio and the numerous web channels.

Chief Operation Officer will be Oliver Diggelmann, who joined Energy as part of the acquisition of the platforms usgang.ch, students.ch and partyguide.ch on August 1, 2016.

Pascal Frei, who is CMO, will additionally assume responsibility for marketing and will become Deputy CEO.

The Energy Group, with over 140 employees at locations in Basel, Bern and Zurich, consists of Energy Switzerland, Energy Media and its associated radio stations Energy Basel, Energy Bern and Energy Zurich.
