"Advertiser:in of the Year" 2025: Jury selects three-ticket winner
The jury has decided: Three finalists are up for the title "Advertiser of the Year" 2025. The decisive community voting starts on February 24, 2025. Before the nominees are announced, the jury gives exciting insights into the selection process in the video and shows what was paid particular attention to in the decision.
Since 1977 the title of "Advertiser of the Year" has been awarded to outstanding personalities in the Swiss advertising industry. The first winners were André Hofer and Doris Gisler-Truong. The latter became famous for the legendary "Figugegl - Fondue isch guet und git e gueti Luune" campaign, which remains a milestone in Swiss advertising history to this day.
Nomination process by the community
The selection of candidates presented to the jury for a decision, took place in several steps: As part of a public nomination phase, the advertising community was able to suggest potential award winners in December 2024. The m&k-The editorial team then reviewed the submissions and compiled a list of the most frequently mentioned people. This list was presented to the jury, which consists of the last ten "Advertisers of the Year". In addition, each jury member was allowed to nominate another person to expand the selection if required.
Insights into the jury meeting
Creativity remains at the heart of the "Advertiser:in of the Year" title. The winner must stand out through creative excellence and set standards with exceptional campaigns, such as Doris Gisler-Truong's fondue advertisement. But creativity alone is not enough: the finalists must also demonstrate commercial success, have the ability to represent the industry convincingly to the outside world and be forward-looking with innovative approaches, such as the use of new technologies.
In the video, the jurors themselves have their say and reflect on the demanding criteria. They also shed light on how decisions were made, share exciting insights into the selection process and take a look at the advertising year 2025. It becomes clear how important the balance between creativity, economic performance and innovative strength is.
Voting from February 24 to 28
The final trio has been decided and will be presented to the community shortly before voting begins. As always, 50 percent of the decision is in the hands of the community - the other 50 percent of the votes come from the jury. The decisive online voting will take place from February 24 to 28, 2025, in which the m&k-community can cast their vote for the "Advertiser:in of the year 2025". All those who have subscribed to the m&k online newsletter since today, January 20, at the latest, can vote! The winner will be announced at a festive award night, where the prestigious Egon will also be presented.
