Swiss Print Award 2026: Power Pur Sets the Standard for Print

On May 20, 2026, 320 industry representatives gathered at the JED in Schlieren for the Power Pur 2026 Forum—organized by dpsuisse and Galledia Event. The afternoon was all about print, leadership, and innovation: From a presentation by former Federal Councilor Moritz Leuenberger to a poetry slam and the glamorous presentation of the Swiss Print Award 2026, the forum offered a packed program with depth.

«This is Print» – and a dog named Print Tin Tin

Beat Kneubühler, president of dpsuisse, kicked off the afternoon with a rousing speech in support of print media—and with a premiere: He unveiled the new «This is Print» campaign, scheduled to run for two years, and introduced its as-yet-unnamed mascot, a campaign dog. The audience was invited to suggest names and vote—and the winner was quickly decided: «Print Tin Tin.» The room laughed and applauded. Kneubühler then turned serious, however: He called on everyone to show their emotions, share the campaign, and talk about print—so that the medium would once again become more firmly anchored in people’s minds.

Moritz Leuenberger: Leadership in the Moment

The first keynote address of the afternoon was delivered by former Federal Councilor Moritz Leuenberger—titled «Boldly Into the Unexpected—Leadership on the Fly.» He is convinced that leadership is not a solo act, but a collective effort at the heart of which lies the assumption of responsibility. The ingredients for this are a mix of awareness, courage, situational instinct, personal responsibility, and empathy. Planning and practice are important—but only to a limited extent. The present moment always holds surprises. And this, according to Leuenberger, is precisely where artificial intelligence reaches its limits: «AI feeds on the past. But the present requires independent thinking and spontaneous creativity. Otherwise, we’ll all become mere extensions of AI.» Experience doesn’t come from merely getting by, but from a culture of learning from mistakes—and in Switzerland’s direct democracy, everyone shares responsibility anyway.

Kybun Joya: Shoe Production Returns to Switzerland

The co-CEOs of the Kybun Joya Group, Claudio Minder and Karl Müller, asked themselves whether producing shoes in Switzerland was a bold move or naive—and answered the question with an inspiring entrepreneurial story. Kybun produces health shoes with a clear mission: to help people live pain-free as they age. Since the specialty shoe retail market is declining, the company is opening its own stores—from Munich to Baghdad. Their conclusion: «We’re bringing shoe production back to Switzerland. We believe in Switzerland’s strength—and resistance spurs us on.»

Poetry Slam and Transformation: Biedermann and Bolt

Annika Biedermann, the 2025 Swiss Poetry Slam Champion, provided one of the most moving moments of the afternoon. With a speed of speech that seemed to break the sound barrier and dry wit, she recited her piece about the voice in one’s ear—the reflections of a simultaneous interpreter. Her closing line: «It’s me—without me, you’d be lost.» The audience knew: This applies to the translator—and, in a way, to print as well.

Christine Bolt, CEO of Olma Messen St. Gallen, spoke about taking office in 2020—shortly before the pandemic—and an organization in a state of emergency. Her journey: from a tanker to a fleet of speedboats, cultural change, personnel changes, new structures—and all of this under the watchful eye of the public sector. Her most candid message: «Things always get worse at first. That’s normal—you have to stick it out.» Bolt summed up what transformation really requires in four words: Clarity. Consistency. Communication. Tolerance for ambiguity.

Swiss Print Award 2026: The Winners

The grand finale was the presentation of the Swiss Print Award 2026, accompanied by a musical performance by singer-songwriter Lea Wildhaber. More than 50 entries were submitted this year. The jury, consisting of representatives from advertising agencies, communications agencies, vocational training institutions, the packaging industry, and the publishing world, selected the following winners:

In the Books category, «Unfinished Atlas» by Courvoisier-Gassmann took top honors. The award in the Direct Print Communication category went to «Heaven 42» by Fischer Papier. In the Publications category, «Marco Odermatt – Meine Welt» by the Odermatt printing company took the top prize; the company also won in the new Periodica category with «Reportagen.» In the Printed Specials category, «Invitation to the Independent Paper Show London 2025» by Sonderegger was honored. «This is Print» – a shared feeling

During the aperitif that followed, the discussions, laughter, and toasts continued. What Beat Kneubühler had launched as a campaign at the start of the afternoon had, by the end of the evening, long since become a shared sentiment. 320 people, one consensus: «This is Print.»
