The prize money amounts to CHF 3,000 each, as the Aargau/Solothurn Media Prize Association announced on Monday. Hossli was also honored with the "Special Prize of the Gottlieb and Hans Vogt Foundation for outstanding research" for his text about the suicide of a young mother of five from Fricktal.

The jury, headed by Hans Schneeberger, selected the three winners from more than 100 entries submitted. The juries for the TV and online categories decided not to award a prize this year.

No outstanding contribution was submitted in the TV category, it was said. The two entries for the online category did not meet the formal and journalistic requirements.

The Media Prize AG/SO is awarded by the companies based in the two cantons and by the cantons of Aargau and Solothurn. The prize is intended to promote journalistic quality in local and regional reporting. Due to the corona pandemic, the usual award ceremony in the Olten Stadtsaal was canceled. (SDA)
