Angst becomes Managing Director of Mediapolis Zurich

A new challenge for Kenneth Angst: the 48-year-old economic historian and sociologist is opening a new office in Zurich as Managing Director of the communications management agency Mediapolis. "After 15 years in journalism, I wanted a change of front," Angst told WerbeWoche. Angst had already left his job as co-editor-in-chief of Weltwoche last February "for personal reasons", which he does not wish to elaborate on. He used the time in between to think about his future, review offers and prepare for his new role as Managing Director and partner of the Mediapolis agency, whose Chairman of the Board of Directors is Peter Weigelt: the St.Gallen FDP National Councillor also serves as President of the FDP Switzerland Media Commission.
He is excited to be part of a network, to build a new location and to support customers, says Angst. "All of our customers depend on the company trusting them. They get the right support from us."
Mediapolis AG für Kommunikations-Management has been providing professional public relations, image and political consulting services for companies, associations, political parties and authorities since 1998 and has operated three offices to date - in St.Gallen, Bern and Kreuzlingen. Thanks to the new office in Zurich, regional and national mandates in the areas of strategy consulting, reputation management, corporate and association publications and political coaching can now also be managed as closely as possible to the client from Switzerland's most important economic area.
For Angst, it is another stage in his career. He launched it as a personal advisor to Federal Councillor Kaspar Villiger, deputy editor-in-chief of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and as an author (including "Switzerland and Zurich - Zurich and Switzerland").
In addition to his work at Mediapolis, Angst will continue to work as a freelance journalist, with a fortnightly column in Finanz und Wirtschaft and as a guest author for the Aargauer Zeitung. (af)
