Allianz Suisse has a work of art created for more sustainability

«Give your clothes a second chance»—under this motto, Allianz Suisse took a stand for more sustainable clothing consumption on Climate Day 2021. In collaboration with Swiss artist Fabian Bane Florin, a work of art made from 4,500 old garments was created at Zurich’s main train station.

"Awareness": artist Fabian Bane Florin's call to humanity not to look away.

According to figures from Bafu, around 100,000 tons of new textiles are purchased and 40,000 tons of used textiles are recycled in Switzerland every year. As an official partner of Climate Day 2021, Allianz Suisse has now transformed these figures into an oversized work of art. The result: a 15 by 20 meter painting that was laid live on site from donated old clothes on Climate Day and adorned Zurich's main train station for an entire day.

The artwork was created in collaboration with Swiss muralist Fabian Bane Florin, who is known for his socially critical works. The action was accompanied by film and played out on social media and in a media partnership with Radio Energy throughout Switzerland.

"Allianz Suisse is committed to our climate in various areas, including Climate Day. This resulted in a fundraising campaign as well as the largest work of art made from old clothes. These were then donated to the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) and thus given a second chance," says Thomas Wegmann, Head of Market Management at Allianz Suisse.
