Last but not least: Wikileaks has a successor: Vatileaks

Over the past few months, confidential documents have repeatedly been leaked to the media from the Vatican. As a result, the Vatican has already criticized these publications as «Vatileaks.».

The name "Vatileaks" is a reference to the publication of secret US embassy documents on the Wikileaks revelation platform. For example, internal information about an alleged murder plot against the Pope and the financial conduct of the Vatican Bank IOR became public. The Vatican has now initiated extensive investigations at all levels of the Holy See. This was reported by the church newspaper L'Osservatore Romano on its website on Saturday, according to SDA. In an interview, the substitute of the Pontifical Secretariat of State, Archbishop Angelo Becciu, said: "The image of the Roman Curia, which is all too often circulated in public opinion, does not correspond to the reality, which is certainly much better, even if it is clouded by the serious dishonesty of a few".

An additional commission is responsible for the "Fiat Lux": Pope Benedict XVI had appointed a higher-level commission "to shed light on the whole matter". It remains to be seen why the Vatican prefers to shed its own "light" on the matter rather than that of the public and the media.
