Last but not least: Fatal relief
In your own backyard, you can basically do whatever you want. After all, you’re all alone there. That’s probably what the Frenchman thought as well when he went out into the garden to relieve himself. He was wrong.
Unfortunately, a Google Street View vehicle drove past at the exact moment he was peeing in his garden - with the rotating camera mounted on the roof switched on, of course. Google published the images, making the poor man the "laughing stock of the village". And that is precisely why he demanded compensation of 10,000 euros. But a court in western France dismissed the claim - the complaint was not admissible because it was directed against the French branch of Google and not against the US parent company... And as if the good guy wasn't punished enough by the fact that the whole village could watch him pee, he now also has to pay Google France's legal fees of 1,2000 euros.
At least the photo was removed from the internet after the hearing - only a small consolation, but still. But even though the picture is no longer online, it is unlikely to disappear from the minds of the villagers any time soon.
