Last but not least: The Return of the Soup Nazi

In an Israeli viral campaign, Pepsi Max is bringing a cult character from the series "Seinfeld" back onto the screen: the "Soup Nazi".

Even 17 years after the last episode, the series "Seinfeld" is still very popular in large parts of the world - especially online. The sixth episode of the seventh season was particularly memorable for many fans. Its name: "The Soup Nazi". In it, actor Larry Thomas plays the owner of a soup restaurant, which he rules with an iron hand. The soups are so good, however, that the customers submit to the maestro's strict dictates and do everything they can to avoid falling out of favor. If you have the time and inclination, you can watch the best scenes from the episode here:

Pepsi Max gives the "Soup Nazi" a revival in a viral campaign launched on YouTube. He is promoting the Israeli street food festival "Top Street Food" sponsored by Pepsi. As a tester, he tastes various dishes and makes his usual harsh judgments. The commercial contains numerous allusions to "Seinfeld". The slogan "This falafel is making me thirsty!", for example, is a homage to the Seinfeld running gag "These pretzels are making me thirsty!". In the end, the authoritarian food tester finds his master in the form of a soup seller who refuses him an extra portion of s-chug for the hilbeh soup. S-chug is a Yemeni seasoning sauce that is particularly popular in Israel. The film is also popular: it has been clicked on almost 750,000 times within a week - and has really taken off. (hae)
