Last but not least: partner or pet - that is the question here
Another sensational survey result from Parship: This time, the dating agency wanted to know whether Swiss men and women would choose their pet or their partner—if push came to shove.
Almost every second Swiss household has at least one pet, as Parship knows. The probability that a single looking for a partner will meet a single with a pet is correspondingly high, according to the dating agency's wise conclusion. But how popular are singles with pets really among petless singles? Regardless of gender, half of them are positive about a partner with an animal companion, with 38% even expressly welcoming a pet in their new partner and a further 38% neither for nor against animals.
Singles with pets have clear ideas about the behavior of their future partner, as Parship also found out: 53% of women and 37% of men expect their new partner to be understanding of their animal roommates, even if they don't necessarily like animals. One in five would even want their partner to share their passion for animals. However, male pet owners are generally somewhat more tolerant than their female counterparts: 39% said they had no expectations of their partner because of their pet, compared to just 21% of women.
If singles had to choose between their beloved pet and a new partner, only one in three men and one in six women would clearly choose their partner. Around 39 percent of men and women could not spontaneously say who they would choose. For 28% of men and 41% of women, however, the choice would clearly be in favor of their pet.
It's a good thing Parship exists - what would we do without the legendary surveys that don't really interest anyone, but are somehow still part of it? In any case, we will continue to keep you up to date - whether you like it or not. The next survey is sure to come.
