Renault and Publicis Conseil invite you to test drive above the clouds
When virtual and «real» realities merge: A clever stunt using VR goggles.

Renault presents the New Koleos at the Geneva Motor Show. An SUV that has long been on the road in other continents and is now set to conquer Europe. To draw even more attention to the European launch, the Paris-based agency Publicis Conseil has created a 360-degree campaign that is being launched with a VR stunt. Passengers in the business target group are offered a dizzying test drive. Starting at the arrival airport. And at the end... well, see for yourself.
Blurring the boundaries between VR and reality is appealing. But it's not entirely new either. Equipe has already done this for Heineken in the best possible way (Werbewoche.ch reported) and before that the Georgian agency Leavingstone for the brewery Old Irish (Werbewoche.ch reported). With one big advantage: the protagonists were real (or at least seemed that way to us viewers).
You can't say that about "Out of the Ordinary". Once again, however, it is not entirely clear whether the agency is even making the claim that people think it is about real participants and a genuine "Renault Experience". It's probably just about storytelling and the how, where and what doesn't matter. And the story is really good. Better than the actors for sure.
Oh yes, the VR test drive shown really exists and will be offered to visitors to the motor show. They will then have the absolute Renault experience. (hae)
