Studio Voile designs the performance of Schauspielhaus Zürich

Following the comprehensive redesign, the new look of the Schauspielhaus Zürich is now visible and can be experienced in all its glory.

With the new neon sign above the Pfauen entrance, characterized by the house font 'Pfauen Plakat', the ensemble dancing across the window fronts, the newly designed foyer, the large-format LED screens in the Schiffbau and the newly branded Schauspielhaus truck, which carries the house out into the city.

The redesign is given special emphasis in the first season opening campaign: over 67 different poster subjects, distributed throughout the city of Zurich, place the ensemble at the center of attention. The photographic portraits by Reto Schmid confront passers-by in a wide variety of formats - from large billboards to cultural pillars - and make the Schauspielhaus tangible as a personal experience in the urban space.

The visual appearance is joined by the first merchandising collection, which extends the house and its productions into the everyday lives of the audience: key rings with references to individual pieces and the first play posters - both with a collectable character. The latter are not only available in analog form and as postcards, but also in a digital version.

The new video format PLAYGUESS was also launched as a digital extension: The ensemble guesses the content of the upcoming plays without knowing what they are actually about. The result is a humorous series under the motto "Theatre begins in the mind", which playfully whets the appetite for the program and allows the focus of the ensemble to be experienced online.

In this way, the redesign grows beyond the classic means of communication to become a comprehensive presence in the cityscape, in the digital space and in the lives of the audience. It makes the programmatic departure of the Karabulut/Sanchez co-directorship not only visible, but tangible.
