VBZ and Ruf Lanz turn fossil fuels into fossil fuels

Ruf Lanz’s campaign for VBZ continues—with three new ads designed to once again highlight the benefits of trams and buses. As always, with a touch of humor.

In 2001, Ruf Lanz set the course for the VBZ campaign "Umsteigen lohnt sich", which positions streetcars and buses as a smart alternative to private motorized transport. To this day, the campaign has many fans among the population, says Silvia Behofsits, Head of Corporate Communications at VBZ: "We regularly receive positive feedback - including orders for motifs."

Now there are new motifs: the "Bleaching tooth rail" motif shows the beauty-conscious Zurich residents why VBZ passengers have reason to smile in city traffic: for example, because they don't have to doggedly search for a parking space or grit their teeth waiting in front of red lights.

The subject "Zurich's landmark" dramatizes the high density of VBZ stops. On average, there are connections to streetcars and buses every 300 meters throughout the city. This corresponds exactly to the original height of the Eiffel Tower, which is why it is conspicuously positioned horizontally in the format for once.

The "petrol can fossil" motif communicates the "VBZ eBus" strategy, which aims to withdraw the remaining diesel buses from service by 2030 and replace them with vehicles powered by electricity. VBZ already transports 80 percent of all passengers with electricity from renewable energy sources.

The new VBZ subjects appear on double-page and full-page advertisements in "20 Minuten", on posters in all VBZ Züri-Linie vehicles and on VBZ's social channels.
