Giving animals a voice
Two years ago, four animal welfare organizations joined forces to form Alliance Animale Suisse in order to collectively give animals a voice in politics. Now, ZB Werbung, in collaboration with Competentia, has launched a fundraising campaign that builds on this core idea.

It is a flaw of politics that animals and animal protection do not have an actual lobby at federal level that consistently supports animal protection concerns. This is something that the well-known Zurich animal rights activist Katharina Büttiker, President of Animal Trust, has repeatedly noted in the course of her many years of involvement.
Since 2014, the Alliance Animale Suisse has been campaigning for the interests of animals in Swiss politics. Initiated by Katharina Büttiker, the Alliance's supporting organizations include Animal Trust, Stiftung Tier im Recht, Vier Pfoten - Schweizerische Stiftung für Tierschutz, and Wildtierschutz Schweiz.
The Alliance Animale Suisse is actively involved in the federal government. The aim is to help various animal protection issues achieve a breakthrough in cooperation with other organizations, according to the sponsoring organizations.
The necessary funds for this are now to be collected with a fund-raising campaign. Under the slogan "Give animals your voice - we pass it on at the political level!", Alliance Animale Suisse is promoting animal protection with three different animal subjects for the time being.
The idea and implementation of the campaign, which relies heavily on social media, came from the Bern-based advertising agency ZB Werbung headed by Denis Jeitziner. It is working closely with Michael Gehrken, who is in charge of the alliance's office, on the implementation. "Animals exercising their political rights themselves - that was the basic idea of the campaign," says Jeitziner. And because this is precisely not possible, she says, the Alliance Animale Suisse can be supported as an advocate for animals in politics.
