LZ Christmas campaign: 5.37 million francs for people in need

The 29th LZ Christmas Fundraiser raised a record total of 5.37 million Swiss francs. Nearly 16,000 donors showed their solidarity and made it possible to provide rapid assistance to the Central Switzerland region.

The 29th edition of the LZ (Luzerner Zeitung) Christmas campaign once again demonstrated impressive solidarity: 5.37 million francs were collected for people in need in Central Switzerland. Thanks to 15,887 donors, including many private individuals and companies, the five million mark was exceeded once again - for the fifth time in a row.

Bettina Schibli, President of the LZ Christmas Campaign Foundation, is overwhelmed: "The result of this year's collection has far exceeded my expectations. I am touched that so many people, who themselves have less at their disposal due to the increased cost of living, are so supportive and willing to help."

The money collected goes directly to people in need. 4575 requests for help were submitted by social institutions and social authorities - a new record that underlines the growing need for the campaign. Over 4000 applications have already received a positive response.

Since its foundation in 1996, the LZ Christmas campaign has collected over 86 million francs and processed 65,000 requests for help. It is considered the most successful fundraising campaign by a Swiss newspaper. Its success is based on the unbureaucratic and rapid distribution of donations, which go directly to those in need.
