Local filmmakers convey big city feeling in Chur

MM Motion Pictures, a Chur-based promotional film production company, has shot a commercial for the local clothing store FRIDA Fashion. The commercial was filmed entirely in Chur and features models with strong ties to the region. Following a two-month production phase, the commercial has now been released.

Both filmmaking and fashion are two terms that very few people associate with Chur. The spot, which MM Motion Pictures has realized for Frida Fashion, should show: An interesting combination.

"I can still remember the first time I met Carol Bernhard, the owner of Frida. For me, the store is something like the grease on rusty chains, it brings momentum to the alpine town and inspired us to bring this project to life," Manuel Sieber, director of the commercial and co-founder of MM Motion Pictures, said in a statement. So two months ago the idea was born to shoot a portfolio project that visualizes this mentality.

After a short but all the more intensive conception phase, the film was shot over two days with seven models in the city of Chur. "The models all grew up here, live, work or study here," says co-founder Jonas Steinbacher. Both film crew and models worked for free but with all the more creative freedom and enthusiasm. The result is a short commercial that shows Switzerland's oldest city younger than ever.
