Degussa and Monopol present shortlist of the Young Generation Art Award 2026 at Frieze London
At Frieze London, Degussa Goldhandel and the art magazine Monopol announced the five nominees for the 2026 Young Generation Art Award. The prize, worth 10,000 euros, supports emerging voices in contemporary art and received nearly 400 applications.

At the renowned art fair Frieze London, Degussa Goldhandel, in cooperation with the art magazine Monopol, announced the five nominees for the Young Generation Art Award 2026. The prize, which promotes promising young positions in contemporary art, was established in 2024 and awarded for the first time in 2025.
Degussa Goldhandel is presenting the award at Frieze for the first time this year and is showing a large solo exhibition of the first award winner Thuy Tien Nguyen, whose work convinced the jury in 2025.

The new 2026 shortlist includes Yuhao Chen, Lunita July Dorn, Arne Grashoff, Emmélie Lempert and Ken Nwadiogbu. They were selected from almost 400 submissions - an impressive sign of the great interest shown by young artists in the art prize.
"It is a significant milestone to make our debut at Frieze in London in the second year of the Young Generation Art Award with the first award winner. This internationally significant presence underlines the relevance and sustainability of our commitment to art," says Christian Rauch, CEO Degussa.
The Young Generation Art Award is endowed with 10,000 euros for the first prize; each nomination on the shortlist will receive an additional 3,000 euros. An expert jury will select the 2026 winner from the five finalists.
The works of the nominated artists will be presented in the November issue of Monopol magazine and can be seen from November 28 in a joint exhibition at the Degussa branch in Berlin, Französische Strasse 48.
