Coundco brings food from the past to life using augmented reality.

At the Gustofestival in Solothurn and Olten, everything revolved around the topic of culinary arts from 15 - 25.09.2016. Under the motto "Patagonian Cuisine", star chefs from Argentina and top chefs from both participating cities came together to cook together. But the participants were not "only" served dinners and lunches, completely new perspectives on the subject of food were also opened up.

The Palais Besenval in Solothurn served as the Gustofestival's "headquarters" for the entire period. Among other things, it also housed an exhibition on the subject of 80,000 years of culinary art, developed in collaboration with the Solothurn Archaeological Museum. To make this as realistic and exciting as possible, the agency Coundco - inventor and think tank of the Gustofestival - made use of augmented reality. Visitors to the exhibition were able to be virtually "served" the historical menus and view them from all sides and up close. In order to create the 3D menus in a realistic way, the dishes were cooked and served 1:1 by Andy Zaugg, star chef and culinary director of the Gustofestival. Coundco then developed the augmented reality experience for the visitors.
