How AI estimates car brands: post from Zurich fintech goes viral
An AI post published on Tuesday by Zurich-based fintech Gowago.ch, in which Switzerland's most popular car brands are depicted as animals, has gone viral. As of Thursday afternoon, the post has over 3 million views, over 40,000 likes and more than 2,200 comments. The post was created with the help of ChatGPT and Midjourney.
As an experiment, leasing startup Gowago.ch asked itself which animals best personify certain car brands. To do this, the fintech designed a series of portraits through the use of artificial intelligence and posted them on LinkedIn - with a great response. According to the company's own information, the post was seen by more than 3 million users within 24 hours and collected more than 20,000 likes; on Thursday afternoon, the number had already risen to more than 40,000. In the comments column, more than 2,000 users discuss whether, for example, the representation of VW as a Labrador with a hoodie is accurate.
The offbeat idea for the post came from the startup's close ties to artificial intelligence technology. Recently, the company had an own AI which is intended to make the calculation of residual value, a key point in leasing, more independent and transparent.
