Now Twitter is also taking on cryptocurrency advertising
Following Google and Facebook, the microblogging service Twitter is also restricting advertising for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin. To enhance the safety of Twitter users, advertising for cryptocurrency initial public offerings (IPOs) and the sale of virtual tokens will be banned in the future.

This was announced by the company on Monday. The price of the best-known cryptocurrency Bitcoin fell by eight percent below the 8,000 dollar mark following the Twitter announcement.
Some start-ups have raised billions of dollars with the help of ICOs. However, these financial transactions are completely unregulated and
risky. Consumer advocates warn of opaque transactions and fraud involving cryptocurrencies. There is great concern that they could be used by criminal networks for money laundering.
Facebook had already announced similar measures to Twitter at the end of January and Google in mid-March. (SDA)
