Energy Switzerland significantly extends lead on social media in August
The Storyclash ranking shows how Swiss media brands perform on social media. In August, Energy Switzerland dominated more than ever - for one simple reason.
Energy Switzerland's interaction figures exploded at a high level in August: a 27% increase compared to the previous month. Around 350,000 more on Facebook, even 600,000 more on Instagram - this difference alone is greater than most media in Switzerland achieve in total. Impressive figures - with a logical explanation: tickets for the Energy Air event, which are not available in shops, were raffled off via social media. The event generated a great deal of interest - the raffle post on Facebook generated no fewer than 278,000 (!) comments.
Otherwise, there was little movement in August: 20 Minuten and Blick swapped places and achieved almost the same number of interactions. The Covenant made a big leap forward with an increase in interaction of 34 percent, moving up seven places to 10th place. The interactions were achieved almost exclusively on Facebook, which is typical for many established, traditional daily newspapers.
The crown for the article with the most interaction in August once again goes to the NZZ. The interview with an ex-general who is running for the AFD and accuses Angela Merkel of pursuing "anti-German policies" made waves. The NZZ has repeatedly succeeded in recent months in achieving a wide reach in German-speaking countries with articles on topics such as migration.
A post from SRF also caused quite a stir: In the Video shows how orcas are released into the wild in Russia instead of being sold to Chinese aquariums as planned. Apparently there is such a thing as "whale prisons" in Russia. By order of President Putin, all 100 whales were released - a story with a happy ending and a click guarantee.
