Brazil's largest newspaper pulls out of Facebook over newsfeed adjustment
Mark Zuckerberg's adjustments to the Facebook news feed algorithm have not gone unnoticed: "Folha de São Paulo" has 5.95 million followers on Facebook and is now no longer posting content on the social network.

Brazil's largest daily newspaper is largely withdrawing from Facebook. From this Thursday, "Folha de São Paulo" will no longer actively post its own newspaper content on the social network. This is the paper's response to a recent decision by the internet company to show more posts from friends and relatives of users and less from media and companies in its newsfeed in future.
This change will reinforce the tendency for users to only consume articles that reflect their own opinions, the newspaper argues. "Folha" users should continue to be allowed to share newspaper content. The paper claims to have 5.95 million followers on Facebook.
Facebook was criticized for the flood of fake news during the 2016 US presidential election campaign, among other things. The company has announced initiatives to curb the problem. Most recently, it announced that it wanted to put the fight against fake news more in the hands of users. (SDA)
