Coop continues sales growth in fiscal year 2022
Coop's growth is attributable to the positive development of the retail and wholesale/production pillars.
For the past year, Coop reported total sales of CHF 34.2 billion. This corresponds to an increase of CHF 2.3 billion or 7.3 % compared with the previous year. In retail, net sales increased by 1.6 %. Wholesale / Production increased by 14.6 %. Coop's growth is attributable to the positive development of these two mainstays. Sales of the online business reached around CHF 5 billion.

Wholesale /Production
In the Wholesale / Production business, net sales increased by 14.6 % to CHF 15.7 billion. Transgourmet generated net sales of CHF 11.1 billion. All of Transgourmet's national companies significantly exceeded the previous year's results. Transgourmet thus further consolidated its strong position in the European pick-up and delivery wholesale business. This is due on the one hand to the recovery of the wholesale business after the pandemic-related lockdowns and on the other hand to the acquisition of Transgourmet Ibérica.
Online trade
Coop's online business achieved sales of around CHF 5 billion and grew by CHF 1.2 billion. The online supermarket Coop.ch with over 18,000 products grew by 8.4 %. In the wholesale business, online sales increased by 55.1 %.
Sustainability
Sustainability sales increased by a total of CHF 391 million to CHF 6.2 billion. With around 20,900 products, Coop has the broadest sustainable product range in the Swiss retail sector and thus remains the undisputed number 1 in sustainability.
Outlook
Due to the strong competition and the large investments in favor of lower prices for customers, Coop expects a stable result for the 2022 financial year.
